Backstory[]

Yuugen’s story is filled with tragedy and mysticism. Born to struggling adventurers, he was abandoned on a mystical island between Mondstadt and Liyue(yes his lore is in genshinverse sorry :sob:) after a violent attack by Abyssal creatures. Separated from his parents, he met Yuushou, another lost child, and was taken in by the Shadow Sage, who sought to make Yuugen his successor.

However, during the coronation, Yuugen’s resistance to the Shadow Sage’s plans caused a catastrophic accident, leading to the deaths of both the Sage and Yuugen himself. Cursed with immortality, Yuugen's body became decayed, reflecting his tragic fate.

In a fit of grief and rage, Yuushou—renamed Satsukyou—attacked Yuugen with scissors, creating a shockwave that left them both physically and emotionally scarred. Satsukyou vowed to kill Yuugen, adopting the name “the one who kills with scissors.”
