yurei is a V系 (visual kei)[1]-inspired UTAUloid, who was also created to milestone the voice provider's 1-year anniversary of starting HRT[2]. Their concept was heavily inspired by the gender nonconforming aspects of the visual kei scene; they wear a feminine-leaning outfit and don long hair and makeup, while their voice remains notably masculine. yurei also has multiple appends to match the different sounds of V系 vocals.
yurei is a playful, mysterious ghost who sings to attract friends to its grave. They died by blunt-force head trauma, making them quite forgetful. Their favorite offerings to receive are unique incense and candles, so make sure to bring some when you visit- it will help them remember you!
yurei is a pale ghost with a cold, blue complexion and pitch black eyes. Blood drips down the left side of its face, and its lips match the same red color. It wears exaggerated eye makeup and adorns several piercings including both eyebrows, a gauged septum, a medusa, and 5 lower lip piercings. Only one ear is visible, but this one is also heavily pierced, notably adorning a black cross earring. Its outfit consists of a white, ruffled blouse with flowy sleeves and red accent crosses on the collar, as well as an accent ribbon hemming the sleeves. They accessorize with a blue cross-shaped tie. Over the blouse is a black tailcoat with a bat wing shape and blue accents along the lapel and underside. The back of the tailcoat is adorned with a corset-like ribbon. Finally, an asymmetrical skirt with lots of lace and ribbon detailing is layered underneath everything. yurei does not wear shoes, and its legs become more transparent the closer it gets to their feet. Its hair is a pale silver with asymmetrical bangs; the right side is dyed black, and the shorter left side is pinned with a cross-shaped clip as well as two thin black pins in the shape of an "X".

yurei _haunt was released on July 10, 2024 as a CVVC monopitch voicebank containing glottal stops, breath samples, and minimal extras.
This voicebank has the same accent as _soul, but in a breathy, whispering tone.
yurei _phantasm
yurei _phantasm is planned for possible development in 2026 as a CVVC multipitch voicebank.
This voicebank will have a more operatic/"ballad" vocal style, inspired by bands including emmurée[7], Femme Fatale[8], and BUCK-TICK[9].
