Toujoh Wistaria (悼城ウィスタリア (とうじょう-うぃすたりあ)) is a beta voicebank for the UTAU program. She is a multipitch VCV voicebank made by CuromiSaccu, the creator of Gahata Meiji, and acts as a "friend" bank alongside Jyougasaki Bibi.
History[]
Back in August 2012, Saccu released her first voicebank, Meiji Gahata. Over the years, Meiji has been getting more and more popular as her voicebanks began to get more improvements and more quantity until Meiji was known to be a high-quality voicebank.
Meiji was also a fashion model, she used to have merch from a clothing store called "Riffle Shuffle." When Meiji went into collaboration with Riffle Shuffle, Meiji got a new design and again, gained more popularity.
However, in November 2019, Meiji was discontinued. Her website was scrapped and all traces of Meiji on Riffle Shuffle were removed.[2][3] There was speculation that Riffle Shuffle's team broke Meiji's terms of use and didn't discuss with Saccu beforehand. While it wasn't explicitly specified, Saccu stated on twitter that there was a problem with Meiji's character being misused. She also says that there were 2 other UTAUs which were also a factor to why she kept quiet about this for a while.
Although, Meiji's discontinuation came with a twist, Saccu decided to release Bibi's and Wistaria's voicebanks on October 2019, as a way of letting Meiji's voice live on, before they were released, Saccu has been making small hints of their release while she was working on some of Meiji's voicebanks back then.[4]
Concept[]
Bibi and Wistaria are believed to be derivatives of Meiji, as they sound similar to her and also have similar consonant pronunciation.
Wistaria's design is based off skeletons and bones. She, Bibi and Meiji together form a group called "Majolica Maiden. (マジョリカメイデン)"
Etymology[]
- Name: Toujoh (悼城) - Tou (悼) refers to grieving or lamenting while Joh (城) refers to a castle or a fortress. Wistaria (ウィスタリア) is another spelling of Wisteria, a type of tree known for its cascading purple flowers. In Japan, the Wisteria stands for love and longevity.
- Type: Majolica Maiden (マジョリカメイデン) - Majolica refers to a type of tin-glazed earthenware often painted in bright colors. Maiden refers to an unmarried woman.

- Hair: Cyan Bob with a long train starting from the back of her neck that reaches her feet
- Eye color: Neon aquamarine
- Outfit: Polka-dotted and frilled, form-fitting dress with a purple corset. Ornate golden heels.

As Wistaria's voicebank is in beta, you need to choose specific resamplers to make her actually produce good enough sounds, as there are some resamplers and don't fit her well and make her notes sound glitchy and robotic. For example, tn_fnds can produce this vocal fry-sounding noise on her consonants, and long notes may get her voicebank to bug out and produce this glitchy, high-frequency noise. She also needs a password, the pass is "pipipapi."
Other than that, Wistaria's voicebank sounds saccharine and like a cuter version of Meiji.
