Welcome to UTAU wiki! This wiki is dedicated to exchanging information about the UTAU program and serves as a voicebank database.

If you want to create a page here but don't want others to make edits, it's better to make a custom homepage for your UTAU or use UtaForum. This wiki was created with the FANDOM engine. If your page has been edited maliciously (vandalism, harassment, unconstructive edits, etc.), contact an administrator (see bottom of the page) and it will be taken care of right away!

1. Request deletions using {{Delete}} and explain the reasons why. Please DO NOT rename or blank the page! You may also categorize your page as "candidate for deletion". 2. UTAU characters with no voicebank, evidence of development or inactivity for over 6 months will be viewed as abandoned and and will be deleted. If you need more time, contact staff, but even so much as an unotoed voicebank singing a scale is more than enough proof. This rule is flexible, but we will take down articles that serve as little more than a character profile. 3. UTAU pages with multiple unverified edits will be viewed as vandalism and reverted to the original page maker. 4. Unauthorized materials (such as stolen and uncredited artworks, clear plagiarism, voicebanks, etc.) will be deleted. 5. Unauthorized character infoboxes will be deleted and replaced with {{Utau Character}} and {{Derivative Character}} respectively. 5b. While the wiki now has an article layout this is simply a guideline. Authors can make changes to the layout if it is their own character page. 6. Outdated and unneeded categories will be deleted and replaced with those of the current wiki policies. 7. As of Feb 2023 - Old group categories containing one to two pages will be deleted due to 'low usage'. Please have at least three or more active/in-development characters within a group before creating a group page and category. 8. As of April 2024 - Characters with heavy gore or visible self-harm imagery (on the wiki itself) without a warning will be considered as a candidate for deletion, as these themes can be triggering especially without warning, and depending on the circumstance can go against Fandom guidelines. Please be mindful when uploading images to the wiki.

What is UTAU?

UTAU is a Japanese singing synthesizer application created by Ameya/Ayame.

UTAU is similar to the VOCALOID software, with the difference being it is shareware instead of under a third party licensing, and anybody can create one! UTAUloids, similarly to VOCALOIDs, are virtual singers to put it simply. To make an UTAUloid, a user would record samples of themself talking/singing strings of syllables in almost any language, sometimes recording the same reclist (recording list or recite list) multiple times at different pitches to achieve a voice with a wider singing range. These collections of recordings are referred to as a voice library or voicebank.
