NUKOLOID

“When I was younger, my dream was to be a voice provider for a Vocaloid. I was in both the UTAU and Vocaloid community, starting 2016, but I didn’t start making UTAU voicebanks until I was 12 in 2020.
When I was 9 or so in 2016, I wanted to create UTAU voicebanks, but I was very young [at the time.] My mum told me that my dad could make something similar with my voice, but I knew that it just wouldn’t be the same.
However, even though I didn’t end up creating any actual UTAU voicebanks when I was younger, I do remember coming up with two drawings of my own little UTAU characters. They were two UTAUs—a boy and a girl UTAU that were similar to the Vocaloids Kagamine Rin and Len in concept. They were conceived as two UTAU characters whose singing brought peace to the world.
I called them the Nukoloids, presumably after the Vocaloid song Magical☆Nuko Len Len, as I listened to that Vocaloid song quite a lot.”

NUKOLOID[]

Nukoloid (stylised as NUKOLOID) is a 2023 UTAU voicebank created by StarryCake based on an original concept of hers from 2016. It is a voicebank consisting of sampled audio recordings of StarryCake dating back from 2016 to 2017.

NUKOLOID is a very innocuous and kind soul--always looking out for others, and making sure they're okay. She tends to sing a lot because she believes that her singing can bring peace to the world.

Character details[]

2023 redesign: Wears a dark grey dress with a glowing purple peace sign with a paint splatter design beneath it on the upper part of the dress. Wears a dark purple choker. Wears long, dark grey stockings with purple bands on the knees, and glowing purple paw-print patterns at the thighs. Has large, dark purple wings. Has a light yellow body with dark purple tips on the ears and tail. Has a small tuft of hair on the head. Has small, light yellow wing-shaped whiskers. Has a small, dark purple nose.

Original 2016 design: Has a small halo atop the head. Wears a hat with a small paw-print design on it on the left ear. Has small wings. Has spiky, yet straight hair, with wing-shaped tufts that stick up on the sides of it. Wears a dress with a bell attached to a shirt-like collar. The bottom of the dress has a battery symbol on the right, with a lightning bolt shape in the middle of it. Wears stockings with bands on the knees with paw-print patterns at the calves.

Etymology details[]

Nuko (ぬこ) - Internet slang for cat, thought to have stemmed from the name of the VOCALOID song Magical☆Nuko Len Len.
Loid - Comes from the -loid in Vocaloid.
