History[]

Jonathan is an Aroumokin Ghoul and human hybrid who was orphaned around the time he was 13.
Coming from an overly religious environment, Jonathan was often spoken down to and forced into silence if he so much as dared to speak back to his parents. As a result, he has trouble communicating his emotions, especially when it comes to little things like trying to pick up on school work, despite struggling to study. While by no means a bad student in school or a bad kid in general, he was always seen as a black sheep and a scapegoat for everything involving his biological family. By the time he turned 13, he was kicked out of his house for openly coming out as nonbinary to his parents. Despite this, he was glad he went through with it. With this new found sense of freedom, he roamed the streets for around a year after the fact, scavenging and stealing from local stores in order to survive. This allowed him to pick up on new skills, though he often found himself going hungry. While he didn't mind this, it did start wearing him down over time.
One day, he came across the tech expert of Ginsenyoko, Alberto Izzo, as he was heading to the store. Their very first encounter? Loki had attempted to steal his wallet. However, this only ended up in the older ghoul chasing after him. Upon trying to run away from him, he found himself cornered by the other ghoul within an alley way. With no where else to run and fully prepared to fight for his life, he had assumed it was over for him then and there.. What he didn't expect, however, was for Alberto to reach out a hand in order to help him out. Alberto, deep down, knew that Loki was only trying to protect and feed himself while in a stressful situation, and getting him into trouble was only going to make that worse. As such, seeing that he was in need of a place to stay, Alberto told him that he could provide him a bed within his own children's room, and that there would be plenty of room, food, and love to give. While hesitant to accept, as his trust for adults was lacking at this time, Loki begrudgingly accepted this agreement, soon finding himself within a rather large household filled with many people, including a few kids around his age, and all who appeared to be LGBTQAI+. Finding this fairly comforting, he decided to give living with the Izzo family a shot.
Ever since this interaction, Jonathan was adopted into the Izzo household with open arms. He is now called "Loki" by Alberto himself, gaining this nickname for his confident yet chaotic personality. Over time, he has begun collecting rocks and gemstones, knowing a strange amount of information about them as he tends to do a lot of research, feeling comfortable enough in his new environment in order to engage in what he's always wanted to. He is also actively back in school and is currently dating Jali Miura, having grown emotionally attached to him before and realizing genuinely just how much he loved him.
Loki has undiagnosed ADHD, Misophonia, and attachment issues, though he is actively seeking help upon Alberto's request and plans to get tested in the near future.

Jonathan. also known as "Loki", is a generally energetic kid who seems a little bit scattered from time to time. He has difficulty listening to others, but he is very compassionate and tries to be there to lend a hand when he is able to. He is also described as chaotic and loud. If he is told to quiet down, he will often become reclusive and panicked.

Etymology[]
- Jonathan -The name is derived from two Hebrew elements; yeho referring to the Hebrew God and natan meaning “to give.”
- Loki - Often assumed to be a variant of Old Norse logi (flame, blazing") from Proto-Germanic *lugô ("liar, deceiver") which relates the best to Loki as the minor god of mischief.
- Smiles - From Middle English smilen (“to smile”) and from Old Norse *smíla (“to smile”)
