''Kuwata Nekomi (KUNE)'' (桑田音子実(くわたねこみ)) is a voicebank for the UTAU program

Profile[]

KUNE is a 13 (in human years) year old UTAUloid that loves to brag about how choppy or very smooth her CV voicebank can sound, depending on different tuning styles. She treats Teto Kasane and Rei Adachi as idols and absolutely adores them. She also gets very jealous of Teto sometimes since she got a Synthesizer V voicebank, instead of her (KUNE). She also hates Teto's chimera form, since it usually scares her. Even though she knows that having a character item isn't necessary, her's is rice because she can't live without it. Along with Teto and Rei, she's best friends with Defoko, which is half the reason why she brags about how robotic/choppy her vb can sound. Overall, she's funny, friendly, and loves to hang out with Teto.

Etymology[]

  • Name Kuwata (桑田)- derived from the lyrics in Konton Boogie by jon-YAKITORY that go "三千体の桑田の方がいいかな/sanzentai no kuwata no hou ga ii kana (I'd rather have Kuwata's figure x3000)" It isn't supposed to mean anything.
  • Nekomi (音子実)- "Neko (音子/ねこ): A given girls name, meaning "sound child", that has the same pronunciation as “cat” in Japanese. Mi (実): A name suffix meaning “fruit” or “truth” showing irony in her name (since she’s a JOKELOID) as well as growth, while also just being a suffix filler so that her name wasn't just "Neko".
  • KUNE (クね)- a combination of the first two letters in her first and last name. Katakana is used for the ク (ku) for emphasis because otherwise, because of Japanese etymology, the "ku" sound would practically be hidden

Character Details[]

  • Description a half human-half cat humanoid with space buns that represent cat ears
  • Design KUNE has blonde to light blue ombre hair that is styled into two space buns and two very long, bubble-shaped pigtails (similar to Hatsune Miku's). She also wears a red sleeveless turtleneck under her very dark grey/black sleeveless coat, along with very dark grey/black, oversized arm warmers with red trims on the top, the same colors as her shirt and coat, while she wears a light grey belt on top of her coat. Lastly, she wears grey sweatpants and brown Mary Janes with light grey socks underneath.

  • Dislikes That Teto got a SynthV voicebank instead of her, slow roller coasters, when people call her "half-cat" or “half-human” instead of a Neko (she just likes the term better)

  • Nekomi's favorite Miku song is Konton Boogie, since she got her last name from that song
  • In her early designs, KUNE was depicted with a cat tail, which in later designs was represented by her pigtails
  • Nekomi’s name used to be “Nekoda/ねこ田”, but the creator didn’t like the random kanji at the end, plus the fact that “猫田 (Nekota)” (the name her first name was inspired by) was meant to be a surname instead. So at the end of 2025 it was changed to Nekomi (音子実), which is both a pun on "Neko" and the name 音実子 (Nemiko), a rare, but real, girls first name.
  • Nekomi prefers to be pitched up, whether it be using the gender factor or an external editing software, to sound more cutesy and cat-like
  • Her pigtails are vaguely inspired by Zundamon's ponytail
  • Since Nekomi is friends with Teto, this page was inspired by Teto Kasane's page!
  • Just as Teto was made to follow in Miku's shadow, Nekomi was made to follow Teto's
  • Nekomi's voice register was about the same register (high-pitched-ness) as by Nokotan from Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitan Tan when she was recorded
  • She's based on an old fanloid and private unfinished voicebank made in 2011 by Sozoteki-on (one of the creators of KUNE's voicebank), and was later redesigned (slightly) by JXCE
  • In 2022, Sozoteki-on dropped their development of Nekomi (not her original name, she was originally unnamed) and gave all rights to JXCE to continue the project and deleted/rebranded their socials. Despite this, Sozoteki-on is still credited as one of Nekomi's creators.
  • Teto's birthday is April 1st, April Fools Day, since she was a joke/prank. Nekomi's birthday is January 1st, New Year’s Day, since she represents the birth of a new VIPPERLOID generation, while still representing the other VIPPERLOIDS
