Kira Hoshine (星音キラ Hoshine Kira) is a UTAU voicebank created by StarryCake.
About[]
Kira Hoshine and Kokoro Koine are a pair of mysterious deer and bunny-like entities. It is thought that they are in a relationship. Kira is upbeat and eccentric, whilst Kokoro is more reserved and serious, and can also be quite stubborn at times. Both have a mischievous side. By utilising the star-shaped antennae atop their heads with their minds, they are able to lift all sorts of things up into the air, no matter how big or small. And, they especially find it very enjoyable to drop said objects onto… unsuspecting people.

Hoshine Kira SASAYAKI (2025)[]
The second installment, released on September 30th, 2023. CV voicebank. Has a soft, mature-like voice. Has additional end breaths and an additional vowel “ら２” (ra2). Ra2 has a much more defined British pronunciation, being pronounced as “la”.

Trivia[]
- Hoshine Kira SASAYAKI represents light (good), whilst Koine Kokoro GLAM represents dark (evil).
- Her voice in the original installment was achieved by making a deliberate, soft rasp in the voice whilst keeping a childlike essence.
- Kira was created towards the end of StarryCake being 16 years old in 2025, and finished development after she turned 17 in the same month that Kira was released in, nine days after StarryCake's birthday.
- Despite Hoshine Kira being blue, one of StarryCake's least favourite colours is blue.
- In real life, female deer (does) do not grow antlers unlike male deer (bucks). However, on rare occasions, does can grow antlers.
- Starry found it funny that Hoshine Kira and Koine Kokoro came out one month before the news of "zombie deers" and "zombie bunnies" (deer cutaneous fibroma and Shope papilloma virus respectively) made headlines.
- The idea of Hoshine Kira liking Victoria sponge cake came about when StarryCake was eating homemade Victoria sponge cake made by her father on her birthday (July 4th).
- When recording the “ra” row for her UTAU voicebanks, StarryCake trills the Rs, and Hoshine Kira has distinct trilled R sounds.
- Kira originally had an extra folder with recorded voice clips, but this was immediately deleted and scrapped.
- Hoshine Kira and Kokoro were originally going to have birthdays, July 7th (Hoshine Kira) and February 14th (Koine Kokoro) respectively, alluding to their names, but this was scrapped. The birthday July 7th (meant to refer to Tanabata, the Japanese Star Festival) in particular was scrapped, due to its association in the UK with the 7/7 bombings of 2005.
