KUMO (雲) is a voicebank for the UTAU program, created by Kyasurin. Her official designs were illustrated by nana.
Kumo has gone through a number of revisions from her first voicebank in 2017. However, only a handful of covers were ever made public on Youtube, the first being uploaded in 2020. The very first voicebank made available for public distribution was released to the public in 2021, being named MIST. A second voicebank, FROST, was made available in 2022.
Profile[]
Kumo is a goddess being most associated with things relating to weather. Often times, there will be clouds that surround her, with its hues being dependent on her current state of emotions. Due to personal events, Kumo isn't quite fond of humans, especially men. Having lived for centuries, existence has become rather mundane. That is, until she met a woman named Hana Kubo, a human with a talent for singing.
Nowadays, she spends her time away from her duties, finding new meaning to humanity. Still, she can't help but have a sense of arrogance when it comes to being around others.
Etymology details[]
- Name: KUMO (雲) - Quite literally meaning, "cloud".
- Type: UTAULoid
Character details[]
- Description: A rather short girl with black pigtails, of which partially are partially tied into buns. Though she is centuries old, Kumo has a rather young stature as her "human" form, as she feels that it is much more approachable than her true form. However, the one thing that may be off-putting about her is how intimidating her red eyes are, no matter how merciful she may be.
- Outfit: Kumo dawns a variety of outfits, varying from bank-to-bank. However, the most common themes seem to be hair buns and a kimono of some sort. Her most associated colors are black, gold, pink, and red. Depending on what "form" she is in, it will often be a mix between traditional and modern clothing.
- Likes: Sweets and flowers.
- Dislikes: Men and Winter.
Relationships[]
- Hana Kubo - Significant Other.
Voicebank details[]
Kumo's first voicebank was created in 2017, having been recorded on an IPhone 6 mic. This voicebank was monopitch and formatted using CV. At this time, there was not a set name nor character for this bank. However, it was used up until the creation of her second voicebank in 2020.
Kumo's second voicebank was created in 2020, recorded on an IPhone 7 microphone. This time, the voice bank was formatted using VCV, although still monopitch when her first publicly released cover, "Lost Umbrella" was uploaded on April 1st, 2021. This was also the first bank to be officially introduced. There were only two covers ever uploaded with this bank.
Kumo's third voicebank in 2021 was recorded on a TONOR TC-777. The voicebank was originally monopitch VCV, with two more covers uploaded to Youtube. A few more pitches were added to this bank later on but none of the additions never had a publicly uploaded cover. The reason for this was due to the pitches being recorded at drastically different periods in time, resulting in an inconsistency when transitioning notes.
The most recent and public voicebank of Kumo was MIST. MIST was released in August 2021, available for distribution to the public. It was a multipitch VCV that was recorded using a TONOR TC-777 in a short timeframe. Complete with five pitches, it also contains breaths, end breaths, end inhales, and glottal stops.
