Juni Ginkuro (吟黒ジュニ - Ginkuro Juni) is an English and Japanese vocal developed and distributed by アネモネ (Anemone), and released for the engines UTAU, OpenUTAU, and NNSVS/ENUNU. They are capable of singing in both English and Japanese as of 2015, but originally debuted a Japanese-only joke UTAU 2010. In late 2022 it was announced that Juni will have Japanese TTS support for COEIROINK and TALQu, as well as both Japanese and English support for neuTalk.
Their voice actor is アネモネ (Anemone), who also provides the voices of Ramu Toumitsu and Minti Fureshu.
Concept[]
Juni was originally created as a joke based around an error found in Google Translate (and other translation software) mistranslating various words having to do with the alcoholic beverage "gin".
As a character, Juni is an ancient spirit that once served as the guardian deity to a rural village, that was later lost to obscurity in modern times. They now wander the world like a ghost going from city to city, self-proclaiming them self as god/spirit of all cities. Juni is rude, impatient, and easy to aggravate. They enjoy annoying and scaring all people who chance their path, especially in the areas around subways. Juni is known to be at their most active in rainy weather. It is ill advised to touch Juni's antlers, as they will turn violent towards the act. Regardless of almost any situation Juni can be easily bribed or subdued with a simple offering of gin. They will drink other liquors if absolutely necessary but will have a sour look on their face while doing so.

Etymology[]
Due to the nature of Juni's name being a joke based around a Google Translate error their name can be read several different ways
Their surname, Ginkuro (吟黒) is derived from the kanji "Gin" (吟) meaning "chant" "recite" "verse". The other kanji being "Kuro" (黒), which means "black" "dark" "darkness". With the combined reading as "dark verse" or "black recital". However when translated to English using online translation software, 吟黒 (Ginkuro) is translated as "gin" or "black gin".
The first name Juni is a double meaning. Juni was originally released on December 12th or "12/12", and in the Japanese language the number twelve can be read as "juni". The name Juni also comes from the beginning of the word "juniper", which is the primary flavoring ingredient used when fermenting gin.
Appearance[]
Juni is a tall anthropomorphic reindeer with the physical appearance of a young adult between the age 18 to 25. They have shaggy pinkish-red hair and fur ranging from a blondish-tan to brown with sets of white and brown lines in various places like his nose, under eyes, and ears. Juni has a pair of brown 2-point antlers that are in an " F " shape. They have deep maroon colored eyes. For their default (also known as URBANIZE) outfit, they wear a dark red long-sleeved jacket sleeves rolled up to the elbows, with a large lapel and tooth patterned bandana layered over it. The front of their jacket has gold accents and piping in the middle. The area around the jackets pockets have a slight light and dark red strike pattern. On the right lapel their are two round gold pins/buttons. Juni has a dark red band/bracelet on each wrist with a triangle "tooth-like" pattern. They wear knee length red shorts with thin and widely spaced stripes on them. They sport a pair of black kneepads with red pause symbol above a play symbol [ II▶︎]. They wear normal length socks with a similar red thin stripped pattern as their shorts. Juni wears slightly platformed shoes with a raised heel. Having a light red/red-ish orange sole, a tongue that fades from golden yellow to dark red-ish orange, white toe faint red stitching, and a red middle and back with darker red accents around the tongue and collar of the shoe. The bottoms of Juni's shoes have a pattern embossed into them that leave hoof prints in the dirt/sand/snow.
