JONAH is a voicebank for the UTAU program.

"To all the hearts that carried me out from the ocean deep."
—The Amity Affliction

Concept[]

While Jonah has a basic personality given to them by their creator, it is not "canon" information. They may be depicted in any way as long as it follows the UTAU software terms of use.

Jonah is a daydreamer by nature, drawn to art--specifically music--as catharsis for words unspoken. She struggles to form her thoughts into words more often than not, trailing off instead of finishing. She finds it difficult to speak out a thought properly, choosing to keep most things to herself.

Jonah is introverted and a lone wolf if not by choice than by circumstance. She can interact if necessary, but will immediately feel drained thereafter. Her social battery is relatively low. She struggles to feel connected to the world around her and the people in it due to her circumstances and psyche.

She has lived a life unsure of how to communicate and fit into any community she wishes to be in. She feels a bit alien in just about any environment and tends to shadow and mimic the behavior of others. This has simultaneously made her a notorious people-pleaser, but also someone who struggles with her own self-perception within herself.

Nonetheless, she is seen as charismatic and outgoing in conversations; showing great deals of engagement and interest in learning what makes others ticks. She's incredibly intuitive and emotionally in-tune, picking up on small social cues and changes and having solid advice for anyone who needs so.

Jo's identity has been a struggle and unknown to most. She has changed her appearance numerous times rapidly for safety reasons, rooted in insecurity and deep fear of the places she grew up in. She attempts to be a positive impact to others with what she can do, though she is only capable of so much. She has been the target of a great deal of scrutiny as a result of her appearance, choosing to often keep her identity non-public and grew up hiding it from her family. She has learned to accept her situation overtime and expresses herself in a neutral light, but has gotten more comfortable with being herself over time. She is more keen on taking criticism to heart than it shows. She does not often feel comfortable in her own skin or being.

She is fond of workaholic tasks that require long periods of dedicated work. Once she is pushing towards something, she is almost impossible to pull away from it. She only feels at ease when she has been productive, even if she has very high standards for herself. She distracts herself by staying busy and working intensely, sometimes to her own detriment.

Her high standards make it to where she holds herself to different lights than others, choosing to judge herself and be overtly critical to her own situation and background in a way she would not where others are concerned. She can be very self-destructive and damaging to herself, being self-deprecating without realizing it. She would never admit it, but she puts standards on her own shoulders that she would never put onto others.

She can become tunnel-visioned and single-minded in regards to her interests and fixations. While she is by nature a reclusive person vocally, she will speak up and light up like a candle at the slightest mentioning of something she loves. When she rattles on about her passions, she becomes emphatic and noticeably brighter in the process. The key to her heart is feeling heard, as her youth was scattered about with not being met with that oftentimes.

When Jonah listens to music, it fuels her creativity. She perceives music with a vivid thumb of self-expression and relates to the concept of it on a far-reaching level. She has never quite understood why this occurs, but she will see and feel vivid images while listening to music, to which she will oftentimes write out in poetry or literature. She is an emotionally intense person at her core. She feels things extremely, but rarely speaks of them. She replaces many of her own distastes and issues with distractions, preferring to work on a new project or be around others than talk about her own problems. She is an excellent listener because of this.

Her jaded past with her family is something she rarely speaks of, even to those closest to her. She has portrayed her living situation in a far different light than it is in actuality. She has spoken bits and pieces, but not the full story. She still, to this day, carries a lot of baggage.
