Eseph (エセフ) is a voicebank for the UTAU and OpenUTAU programs.

History[]

Eseph is a genderless/sexless masc-presenting UTAU. He was initially released July 2021. Since then, Eseph has received language updates and voicebank updates.

Character Details[]

A mysterious android from an unknown land. It is believed that he is from a world where androids are very commonplace. Eseph himself seems to be built for music instruction. He is extremely curious and impressionable, though becomes anxious easily. He often sings songs to calm himself.

  • The voicebank has a number of phonemes that are not standard for ARPAsing or ARPAbet, so that eseph can sing with his intended accent. A custom OpenUtau and LyricInputHelper dictionary which utilize these phonemes are included.
  • Optimized for OpenUtau and WORLDLINE-R.
  • It is recommended to set the Normalization parameter ( P flag in UTAU ) to around 0~20.

Voice Colors[]

Each voicebank shares 5 Voice Colors, and 2 X(Cross) Colors between them. They are designed to sound identical between the Japanese and English voicebanks, with the same tone, direction, and number of pitches.

The following terms and conditions apply to all usages of VIRTUAL VOCALIST "eseph", including the character mascot, brand, and sound libraries such as "eseph for UTAU" and "eseph COLORS". In the event there are inconsistencies in translations of this document, the English version ( this version ) takes precedent. VIRTUAL VOCALIST "eseph" is owned and managed by eseph-voice.

Using Virtual Vocalist eseph for:[]
  • Expression that is illegal, discriminatory, or aimed at harming others is strictly prohibited.
  • Pedophiliac expression, or for acts which encourage it are strictly prohibited. "Pedophiliac expression" refers to content that portrays sexual or romantic acts between one or more legal adults and individuals below the legal age of majority in a desirable, encouraging, or jovial manner. This includes both fictional and non-fictional depictions.
  • Religious expression is strictly prohibited. "Religious expression" refers to content which is intended to proselytize, evangelize, or indoctrinate on behalf of a particular religious group. This also includes works used in religious seminars or congregations, such as church services. This condition does not apply to common hymns in the public domain, mere references to religion, or generalized religious themes.
  • Political expression is strictly prohibited. "Political expression" refers to content which is intended to advocate or campaign for a particular political figure or group. This includes works made with the intent to sway large groups of people, or alter the wider public perception of a political entity as part of a campaign effort. This also includes, though is not limited to, works associated with political propaganda, government-funded programs, or campaigning for or against legal bills and laws. This condition does not apply to mere mentions of political entities, or works where politics are a theme of the work.
  • Hate speech is strictly prohibited. This encompasses, though is not restricted to, works deliberately meant to express perspectives that are racist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, classist, or ableist in nature.
  • Usage of Virtual Vocalist eseph, or its output, in any sort of Deep-Learning or Deep Neural Network (DNN) technology is strictly prohibited. This does not include being used adjacent to ethically-sourced AI voice-databases ( Synthesizer V AI, CeVIO AI, VOCALOID AI, etc. ).
  • Usage of Virtual Vocalist eseph in, or adjacent to, any sort of endeavor involving Cryptocurrency, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), or blockchain technology is strictly prohibited.
  • Virtual Vocalist eseph can be used for sexual, 18+, or R-rated content. A content warning is strongly encouraged.
  • Virtual Vocalist eseph can be used for grotesque or violent content. A content warning is strongly encouraged.
  • Virtual Vocalist eseph can be used for LGBTQ+ Expression.
  • Virtual Vocalist eseph can be used for "Kemono" or "Furry" Expression.
  • The members of eseph-voice are not responsible for any troubles caused by using this product, mascot, or brand.
  • eseph-voice can restrict the use of Virtual Vocalist eseph and its associated assets for any reason.
The following conditions apply to uses of Virtual Vocalist eseph products.[]
  • You may edit the configuration files ( oto.ini, .frq, etc. ).
  • You may distribute edited configuration files.
  • You may use Virtual Vocalist eseph on voice synthesis software it was not originally designed for.
  • You may not redistribute Virtual Vocalist eseph, or its sample data, without permission from eseph-voice. In the event Virtual Vocalist eseph is no longer available for no clear reason ( e.g. website failure, disappearance of the owner, broken links, etc. ), Virtual Vocalist eseph may be redistributed non-commercially for the purposes of preservation and continued accessibility.
The following conditions apply to both commercial and non-commercial uses of the Virtual Vocalist eseph character mascot and branding.[]
  • You may use the official character artwork and assets in your works.
  • You may create derivative mascots or works. For derivative works, you must specify Virtual Vocalist eseph as the source.
