Crybaby is a voicebank for the UTAU program.
Background[]
Some places are best left untouched, some things best left undisturbed. This was very much the case when a group of mischievous young adults wandered into a supposedly cursed forest off of the back of a dare from the leader. The group had worked up the courage to try to prove the 'hoax' wrong, under the light of a total lunar eclipse, bringing about the Blood Moon. It was foretold that this forest was associated with various supernatural entities, strange masked zealots and a group of worshipers that adopted the Wiccan religious and spiritual tradition to worship the forest. There had been photographs taken within the forest, but most where chalked up to cheap photoshop and straight superstition. To follow suit with the old cliché, many who entered the forest, specifically at night, rarely returned, though this was never proven. Those who had emerged had documented that they would never be the same after, and that the auras and feelings you would feel in the presence of the forest were haunting and eerie, and that you always felt as if you were being watched.
The group set out into the forest in the dead of night, past the signs of warning that were set outside of it. Trees that had stood the test of hundreds of years laid over the entire path, with paths criss-crossing in each direction and a cloak of darkness hanging over due to the leaves and branches above. At certain angles, the creeping orange hue of the Blood Moon lingered through the cracks. Immediately, there were weary members that thought it would be best to leave; that for one, it was trespassing, but for the second, it was too quiet, too dark, too unsettling. The cocky pseudo-leader of the group made them press on.
Through the absolutely dull silence that washed over the forest, they ended up growing more and more concerned of how little preparation of a return they had, as no one had fully tracked the way back, and the pathways had begun to spiderweb all over the place. It was not long until they were completely lost in every sense of the word.
That was when... something strange occurred.
Taking shelter for a moment beside an elongated, splintered tree that looked half-dead, the party heard the first rustling of the entire night in one of the shrubs. Startled beyond belief, they were prepared for the worst. But what emerged from the shrubbery was far from what they would have ever expected: A strange... cat-like person, with strange features such as pure snow white hair, unblinking eyes that sat atop their ears and in their hands, a very odd looking large cat. One of the members of the party immediately started to ask what the hell it was, and others pointed, ready to fight back if it were to attack.
With no idea what they were making all a fuss for, the creature simply stared back, a peculiar, lackadaisical look on its face and questioned why they were here this deep in the forest, especially on a Blood Moon; that they were lucky to still be alive, and to not have been attacked in some form or fashion by the monsters that lurked in the dead of night. The forest was already dangerous as is, but specific eclipses directly correlated with the appearances of creatures that usually would not inhabit the mortal realm; the boundaries of the worlds were split thin when these eclipses occurred, which brought about the manifestation of this creature.
Still in horror, the mortified group tried to shoo the creature away. Without any sort of way of understanding their behavior, the emotion in them overtook them and they sat down on the ground, beginning to sob. One of the only words they remembered from this encounter was one of the more angered party-members asking why this thing was such a crybaby. Getting up and attempting to seem unbothered, the short little thing was determined to try to help them get out of the forest. After all, they had... never seen any humans up close before, only from afar. They were a wanderer of this forest for quite some time, and it got lonely, as they were quite different than the others that roamed. Not wanting to be left alone again, they attached themselves pretty heavily to the one person who was not scared of them: one of the men in the party that seemed to be more curious than anything, as he had done the most research on the forest and was more on the side of things that believed in the supernatural.
Realizing they didn't have any other way of getting out, and stunned, after much deliberation, they decided to allow the creature to lead them out of the forest, to which they did. The humans were increasingly intrigued, but still confused and fearful of them. By the time they reached the exit, they were not ready to depart with the humans, but the humans were prepared to depart from them. They knew that spirits were forbidden from exiting the forest under any circumstances, but their spunky nature got the best of them and they left the forest as well. By the time their decision was made...the humans were gone, and the way back to the forest for them was extinguished as well.
So it was told, once a spirit left the forest, they would not be able to return and their choice was made. But something in them was bubbling that they had never felt before. Up until that point, they were a lone wolf by force if not by desire. They enjoyed playing games, frolicking and tried to befriend anyone they possibly could--they'd always wanted to meet humans, but were told they were dangerous. Now, they had a deep desire to find other humans, but it felt unhealthy and made their stomach get tied up in knots in such a negative way.
It felt like a curse in many ways. It was as if the spirits who once guided them in the forest had now bestowed upon them the dark magic of lust for companionship with the humans, a fire to be around them at any costs. By turning their back on their ilk with a grave mistake, they had gone down a path of reliance unknowingly.
Overtime, Crybaby began to adopt the behavior of the humans, becoming excellent at getting into people's heads for the sake of getting in their company. They did not care what they looked like, and did not have much of a place in themselves for identity or appearance. They fit molds if they needed to; anything to never leave the side of humans. They attempted to learn how to speak the way they did, dress the way they did, and tried at all costs to hide many of their features. In the end, everyone would find out. This would cause them to be left alone much of the time, something that caused the curse to eat them alive from the inside. It would be a vicious anger that would follow, a red hot mania that felt blistering and unstoppable. This is the only time the eyes on their ears would blink, and would do so violently.
Some days, Crybaby looks up at the eclipses when they occur and wonders what could have been.
Concept[]
Everything stated about this character is CANON information. It is not mandatory that you make content following this information. They may be depicted in any way regardless of their canon information as long as it follows the UTAU software terms of use.
Crybaby is a rather violent and dangerous entity, though they would not seem like that on first glance. They are an enduring spirit that abandoned their forest, becoming cursed with the rage of finding the company of humans. They have been known to have violent outbursts and do not mind doing whatever it takes to hold onto the people they wish to stay near, going to great lengths to lie, as they do not have the same moral compass a human would, they do not possess the same remorse for their actions. They might look cute and cuddly, but there is a monster hiding behind those eyes. They are not to be entertained and falling prey to their ways of manipulation can easily result in being put into a devilish situation that you will struggle to escape. And if you dare TO escape? The consequences they will inflict upon you can be endless. You are not safe.
